What It’s About
|
Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube Music have revolutionized the way we listen to music and podcasts in everyday life. But streaming platforms don’t just make music available anywhere – they also host some of the most comprehensive event calendars out there. Personalized concert recommendations are especially powerful. Depending on the platform, users are notified about concerts directly via pop-ups or emails.
The best part: you can benefit from this impressive reach too – and it’s completely free! This is made possible by bndsintown, one of the leading platforms for discovering and promoting concerts.
On bandsintown, artists and promoters can create events for free. These are automatically shared with Spotify, Google, Apple Music, Shazam and Amazon Music (not licensed for the Swiss market). This makes your concert visible to fans worldwide and can give your ticket sales a real boost.

Listing your event also has a positive impact on your ranking in search engines like Google, Yahoo and others.
Here’s how it works:
- Go to www.bandsintown.com. In the menu, click the relevant sign-up page and create an account.
Please note: There are separate logins for Artists, Venues, Festivals and Promoters. In this example, we’ll show you how to create a new event as a promoter. - Go to “Events” in the menu and enter the artist’s name under “Find an Event to promote”. Then click “Create an Event” and add your new event.

- Fill in all the fields. The relevant ones are venue, event date, artists (1 headlining artist and up to 5 additional artists), event name, event description and ticket link.
- Your event is now listed on bandsintown.

- After 1–2 business days, the concert will go live on the bandsintown website. The event is then shared with Spotify, Apple Music, Google, Shazam and Amazon Music (not available in Switzerland) and displayed on the respective artist profiles.

Whether someone searches on Google or visits the artist’s profile on Spotify or Apple Music: thanks to bandsintown, your concert gets broad visibility. The platforms may also include the concert in their own communications going forward. Since they send users personalized concert recommendations, this is especially interesting for newcomers and niche acts, as it gives them the chance to reach fans near the venue in a targeted way.
The TICKETINO team wishes you the best of luck promoting your upcoming concert!
